What is Spirituality? in fact, there is no a single widely accepted description for spirituality.  Definition of spirituality differs according to the religious faith.  Some religious faith depict idols worship and some believe in nirguna worship.  Offering Puja, prayer, taking dip in holy rivers, chanting mantra and even grooming facial hairs to clean shaving are considered as religious activities.  Nevertheless, it is a fact that advancement in civilization and science creating much impact in spiritualism too.

Modern Spirituality as per Wikipedia:

Modern spirituality typically includes a belief in a supernatural (beyond the known and observable) realm,  personal growth, a quest for an ultimate/sacred meaning, religious experience, or an encounter with one’s own “inner dimension.”

The meaning of spirituality has developed and expanded over time, and various connotations can be found alongside each other.  The term “spirituality” originally developed within early Christianity, referring to a life oriented toward the Holy Spirit. During late medieval times the meaning broadened to include mental aspects of life.

Spirituality in Modern Mental Aspects:

Ancient, Rishi and Sadhus had been devised “Meditation” as an ideal formula for self realization.  It is more relevant aspect of spiritualism, even if God is there or not what difference will it make until we know Him?  Mediation or any other media would be worth to practice, if it could pave the way to self realization.  The Advitha philosophy define oneself as the same as the highest reality.   In such case, if one can attain realization that, he is the microcosm of the macrocosm thru mediation, what else will be there to attain?

Modern science and Spirituality:

It is ridiculous to compare computer to human mind!  Computers are devised and programmed by human to ease his work.  Even though science and technology are at its peak the one invention that “human can change his atmosphere by changing his thought” will always be the supreme amidst trillions and trillions of inventions yet to come.  Even after thousands of years later, nothing will be most powerful than a human mind under the sun.  And for millions of years now, if human mind considers spirituality as a noble aspect, there must be something to think.
